After defeating the Reverse Flash once and for all, the ninth season of The Flash picks up one week later following their epic battle, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) are reconnecting and growing closer than ever before. But when a deadly group of Rogues descends on Central City led by a powerful new threat, The Flash and his team—Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Meta-Empath Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), the light-powered meta Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton), brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight), and reformed cryogenics thief Mark Blaine (Jon Cor)—must once again defy impossible odds to save the day. But as The Rogues are defeated, a deadly new adversary rises to challenge Barry Allen’s heroic legacy. And in their greatest battle yet, Barry and Team Flash will be pushed to their limits, in order to save Central City one last time. –Collider.com
The Flash’s ninth season will also conclude the Arrowverse, which began with Arrow in 2012. Multiple familiar faces from other Arrowverse series will be making an appearance in Season 9 of The Flash. One of them will be Javicia Leslie, who starred in the second and third seasons of Batwoman as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman. Nicole Maines will reprise her role as Dreamer/Nia Nal from Supergirl, and David Ramsey will also appear as John Diggle from Arrow. Earlier this month, it was announced that Stephen Amell will return as Oliver Queen in the final season. During The Flash’s first six seasons, Oliver was a mentor to Barry. Barry was by Oliver’s side, along with Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), when he died in ”Crisis on Infinite Earths.”
An official synopsis for The Flash‘s eighth season has yet to be released due to the “Armageddon” event, however, we do know some plot details starting with the synopsis for part one of the five episode crossover:
PART ONE OF THE ARMAGEDDON FIVE EPISODE EVENT – When a powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances, Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail. Brandon Routh guest stars.
Clearly Barry, the rest of Team Flash, and the Arrowverse’s proto-Justice League are going to be in for a fight that’ll once again put their lives on the line. It seems like these heroes are always a stone’s throw away from ruin but once the dust settles over this big battle, Team Flash will have a another fight on their hands, this time a season long one concerning Iris.In the final episodes of season 7, Iris contracted a type of time sickness that resulted in her passing in and out of temporal planes. While Deon aka The Still Force was able to stabilize her for the time being, showrunner Eric Wallace told TVLine that the team would be in it for the long haul in terms of finding a solution. Solving Iris’ time sickness is a huge, huge part of the entire season, and it will take all season to solve that. And that will have big ramifications for Barry and Iris’ relationship and marriage. While Team Flash always manages to find some way to counteract the forces working against them, Barry wasn’t wrong when he said that trouble seems to always follow him and his family. -Netflixlife.com
Säsong 8 av The Flash har premiär på The CW den 16 november.
Säsongerna 1-6 finns att se på Netflix, oklart i skrivande stund om/när även säsongerna 7 & 8 kommer att visas där.
”In addition to the well-spoiled encore by Ashley Rickards’ The Top in Tuesday’s Season 7 opener, showrunner Eric Wallace told me, ’I would not rule out another big villain from the first three seasons — one of my all-time favorites — to appear in Graphic Novel No. 3’ (aka the arc following the Mirrorverse),” Mitovich replied. There are currently no other clues as to who the villain might be outside of the fact that they appeared in said first three seasons, although old enemies of the Fastest Man Alive from previous seasons coming back is nothing new for The Flash. Due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Season 6 of The Flash was cut short by three episodes, causing the season to end on a cliffhanger. Season 7 will provide closure to said cliffhanger, as well as continue the Green Lantern storyline started by the series finale of Arrow. –cbr.com
